I have purchased many Enze cakes but I have resisted getting this one as fresh strawberry cake is my absolute favourite cake and I have super high standard for it. Due to its simplicity, it relies heavily on the ingredients being in the tip top condition, particularly the fruits. With the cake having to be transported, there is just an increased chance of things going wrong (eg. exposed to hot air, non-optimal temperature, etc). It however came highly recommended by a friend so I relented. Since there was no special occasion, I opted for the smaller bento version instead of the full cake. It is an OK cake but i didn't love it. The cake has the lovely fluffy chiffon that can be expected from Enze but the diced strawberries up the top seems to have lost its fresh firm texture and the rose petals are wet and tough, making it unpleasant in the mouth. It may just be an individual preference, but I ended up removing them from the cake. I am still a fan of Enze cakes but this one is not my favourite.
