Picking a cake for your mum is harder than it sounds. You know her better than most, which means you also know that generic doesn’t really cut it.
This year’s ENZE Mother’s Day collection is three cakes each one designed around a different kind of mum. Here’s how to work out which one is hers.
Lavender Coconut our hero flavour for 2026
For the mum who doesn’t love things too sweet. Who’d rather have one thing done well than a table full of options. Soft vanilla chiffon, filled with a lavender-infused coconut chantilly cream, finished with intricate piping in a floral design. The lavender comes through in the cream rather than the sponge, which keeps it from tipping into perfume territory. The whole thing sits closer to floral-and-creamy than sweet.
It goes well after a long lunch, with strong coffee or a pale wine. Good for mums who appreciate when something hasn’t been oversweetened.
Mint & Choc Cream
Cool mint cream, layers of dark chocolate ganache, chocolate sponge underneath, and Lambeth-style piping across the top. The flavour combination is nothing new, but the way it’s made here is. This one photographs well before it even gets to the table.
Good for mums with strong aesthetic opinions, or anyone who’s been known to rearrange a tablescape before sitting down for lunch.
Strawberry Mochi
Our most requested cake over the past year, and it’s not hard to see why. Vanilla chiffon, fresh strawberries, handmade mochi ribbons, cultured whipped cream. It’s soft and bouncy and very pink, and it tends to be the one that disappears first at family lunches.
If your mum would be perfectly happy skipping the main and going straight to dessert, this is probably the one.
